Visit three food production sites that demonstrate effective food production design and planning and incorporate a passion for local food security. Changing food growing conditions and the climate significantly impacts our soils, pests and growing seasons, amongst other challenges. Planning and management is ever more important to ensure we harness opportunities for viable food production. Meet our hosts and listen to their passion and philosophies about climate change, food security and local production.

We will visit:

  • Nuggety Farm, Maldon
  • The Hub Plot, Castlemaine
  • Gung Ho Growers, Harcourt

Date: Saturday 4 September
Cost: $15 (full) / $10 (concession)
Departure Time: 12.00pm

Schedule:

  • Site 1: Nuggety Farm – 12:30-1.30pm
  • Site 2: The Hub Plot – 2pm-3pm
  • Site 3: Gung Ho Growers – 3.30-4.30pm
  • Finish: Back by 5pm

Note: Numbers are strictly limited, transport only available via minibus from Newstead Community Garden, Castlemaine Community House Kitchen Garden and Maldon Neighbourhood Centre.
