This one-day workshop will provide you with the basic building blocks of Landscape in Watercolour. We will cover such topics as how to compose a scene and add depth in order to create simple landscape paintings. At the end of the day you will have a collection of watercolour paintings that could awaken a whole new direction in your art.

We will cover all the basics of composing a simple landscape such as:

• Sketching first to create a composition

• How to add depth to create the illusion of distance

• How to paint skies, clouds and trees

• Turn average photos into great paintings

• You will be encouraged to free yourself to paint in a more loose & experimental way

• Class includes numerous painting demos with step by step explanations

Facilitator: Eleni Rivers

Eleni is a professional artist who has been teaching painting and drawing for over 25 years. She completed her MFA at JFK University in Berkeley, California in addition to holding several art degrees from colleges in Australia. Eleni’s paintings, drawings and illustrations have been exhibited and published in many countries and are held in collections both here and the US. Now based in Castlemaine, Eleni continues her art practice on themes of the nature and belonging within the Australian landscape.
