Degrowth has gained attention in the media as a rallying cry for social and ecological activists and as a topic in public and policy debates. But what does ‘degrowth’ actually mean, as an idea and practice?

Can we really live a ‘good life’ within a one-planet footprint? What’s ‘defashioning’? And, how might we transform ourselves and our activities from where we are now to a more sustainable future?

Degrowth Central Victoria activist-scholar Anitra Nelson is hosting a five-week introduction to the transformative idea of degrowth – drawing on her four books exploring the theory and practice of degrowth, including the recently released Routledge Handbook on Degrowth.

Expect engaging 90-minute sessions featuring short talks, videos, dynamic discussions, hands-on activities, and accessible readings to deepen your understanding of degrowth and its potential role in building a sustainable future.
