Kitchen is the heart of the family, it’s a place to connect, create memories and forming good habits. This is a course to help busy mums/carers plan and create nourishing meals on a shoe-string with seasonal, local produce with the involvement of the family.

This course is a first of the kind here at CCH, lead by the fabulous Yvonne Tang, and is being set up as a supportive space for women as mums/carers to cook together.

Areas covered in the course include:

  • Basic nutrition for family- Toddlers/ School aged kids
  • Eating seasonal – eating local
  • Budgeting & Planning – why plan, how to plan. Where and when to buy produce/ bulk order (community bulk order).
  • Batch cook schedules – when to batch cook and how to get the family involved
  • What NOT to buy/ what to make at home to save money
  • Where we can access food boxes if need be
  • Community meals ideas/ meal trains/ meals swaps
