Kitchen is the heart of the family, it’s a place to connect, create memories and forming good habits. This is a course to help busy mums/carers plan and create nourishing meals on a shoe-string with seasonal, local produce with the involvement of the family.
This course is a first of the kind here at CCH, lead by the fabulous Yvonne Tang, and is being set up as a supportive space for women as mums/carers to cook together.
Areas covered in the course include:
- Basic nutrition for family- Toddlers/ School aged kids
- Eating seasonal – eating local
- Budgeting & Planning – why plan, how to plan. Where and when to buy produce/ bulk order (community bulk order).
- Batch cook schedules – when to batch cook and how to get the family involved
- What NOT to buy/ what to make at home to save money
- Where we can access food boxes if need be
- Community meals ideas/ meal trains/ meals swaps
