We are currently seeking expression of interest for volunteers for the Castlemaine Safe Space.
Do you have lived experience of suicide, emotional distress or have cared for someone who has?
We would love to hear from you!
The Safe Space is a non-clinical, open-door centre which welcomes people and their carers/loved ones who are in emotional distress or experiencing suicidal thoughts. All are welcome to visit, no referrals or appointments are necessary, and everyone who attends is treated with respect, non-judgement, and empathy. As a volunteer you will be an integral part of the safe, supportive and trauma informed environment. You will be provided with free training and be invited to attend regular check ins with other volunteers.
To become a volunteer within the Safe Space, we ask you to have
- Availability of at least 3 hours per month
- Commitment to attend the training sessions
- Can be involved for a minimum of 12 months
Anyone who is interested is invited complete the expression of interest form. Then the Working Group will contact you for a longer chat, provide more information about the Safe Space concept and discuss the training involved.
Please contact us by Thursday 5 May. We look forward to hearing from you.
