Help Mount Alexander communities recover from bushfire or request support.
Use the form below to be connected with volunteers who may be able to support any bushfire recovery needs, or to offer your support and equipment.
The Castlemaine Community House, Harcourt Valley Community House and Harcourt Progress Association, Castlemaine Community Investment Co-operative, Castlemaine Lions Club, local Landcare groups, Connecting Country and others are coordinating this volunteer and equipment register to help longer-term bushfire recovery and community support, including in the Harcourt Valley.
People or organisations/groups can register their skills, time and useful equipment. These could be used in activities including clean up, workshops on insurance claims, fencing, repairs, re-vegetation, technology, rebuilding, or fundraising.
We are working with organisations in Harcourt to match resident’s needs to offers. This will co-ordinate help through a trusted local, reducing stress for affected people.
This is a volunteer matching service, not an emergency response. This database may be used for long-term volunteering support and recovery.
A few important notes:
- Best Efforts: We will do our absolute best to match offers and needs, but we cannot guarantee immediate help or the availability of specific equipment.
- Privacy & Sharing: To make matching faster, we will create a public spreadsheet listing all offers and needs. Your personal contact details will remain private and will only be shared with relevant parties to facilitate a match.
Thank you for helping us look after one another. Please note you may only hear back in 5 – 7 business days. Community members have not all yet returned to their homes and will need time to assess what the recovery needs are.
