Keen to learn the basics about cars? Or curious what it’s really like to work in the local industry? This course is for you.
The local automotive industry covers car mechanics, welders, electricians, diesel mechanics, retail, electric vehicles, parts, sales, and so much more! There are pathways for every interest and skill set.
Drive Forward is a short, introductory course for anyone curious about a career in the industry — whether you’re after a career change or your first job. No experience or qualifications needed.
You’ll mix classroom learning with hands-on activities, visit local workshops, get hands-on with tools, tour Bendigo TAFE, and connect with local employers.
The course focuses on practical car mechanic skills you can use from day one, plus the key workplace skills local employers are looking for — communication, problem-solving, professionalism, and confidence.
After this course: You could tell employers you have these new skills, do another course at Castlemaine Community House, study a big range of courses at TAFE or University, apply for an apprenticeship or apply for a job. Through this course you’ll map out a path that helps you get where you want to go.
