From turning it on to sending emails. We will step you through the basics.
This course is about the very first steps of using your laptop. Maybe you haven’t really had a computer before, find them a bit confusing, or have a new laptop that runs differently to the one you are used to.
Our facilitator will take you through your device step by step, giving you the confidence to learn through doing and helping you understand common mistakes.
You’ll cover subjects like: ~ Getting to know your device ~ Staying safe online ~ Connecting to WiFi ~ Navigating internet ~ Using email ~ Using social media ~ Everyday tech ~ Filling in forms
This course is especially suited to those who have a laptop at home and would like to master it. Please bring your machine and charging cable with you!
If you don’t have a laptop we have a couple you can borrow for the class but these can’t be taken home.
After this course: you could tell employers you have these new skills, do another course at Castlemaine Community House, study computers further at TAFE , or apply for a job.
