Carers are special people who work tirelessly to ensure quality of life for the person they care for, despite the many challenges inherent in their caring role.

To thank the over 2000 unpaid carers in the Mount Alexander Shire for their efforts, Castlemaine Community House held a virtual morning tea during Carers Week 2021. From this event came the suggestion to start up regular morning teas, and the Mount Alexander Carers morning tea group was born.

This group meets the first Wednesday of each month from 10am to 12noon at the Castlemaine Community House.  It is a welcoming and informal space for carers to share knowledge and resources, and chat with other carers over a cuppa.

This year Castlemaine Community House has partnered with the Rights, Information and Advocacy Centre to recognise the role carers play in our community through events scheduled for Carers Week 2022.

Please join us to celebrate Carer’s Week 2022!
