Build your sewing confidence!
Take your sewing to the next level in this hands-on intermediate course designed for those with basic sewing experience. Build your confidence as you create a garment from start to finish, learning how to draft a simple pattern from an existing garment, make and adjust a toile, and construct a well-finished final piece.
Along the way, you’ll develop techniques to improve garment fit and explore a range of sewing methods, including making and applying bias binding, creating pleats and gathers, and working with shirring. This practical course will help you refine your skills while gaining a deeper understanding of garment construction and finishing techniques.
After this course: you could tell employers you have these new skills, do another course at Castlemaine Community House, study fashion, textiles or upholstery at TAFE or University, or apply for a job.
